All You Need to Know About Verve Paycode Cardless ATM Withdrawals and POS Payments

All You Need to Know About Verve Paycode Cardless ATM Withdrawals and POS Payments

Life is more simple and easy day by day as a result of technology and we need to stay up-to-date with new emerging technologies. Im happy to inform you that there is a new way in Nigeria to withdraw your money from the ATM machine without your debit card being physically present. It sounded like a big joke at first until I personally confirmed it.

You know how it feels when you urgently need cash, but your ATM card is at home; there’s money in your account, but you can’t withdraw it because you need an ATM card.

Nigeria’s largest payment processing company - Interswitch, has launched "Verve World", an app  which enables cardholders to store all their payment options and to carry out everyday transactions without physically using their cards. You can now withdraw the cash in your account without using an ATM card, all you need is a Verve Paycode.

Verve Paycode is a secure code that can be generated from cards stored in your eWallet (Verve eCash). Verve eWallet can securely store any card from any Bank.

Verve eCash is a virtual payment card that allows you to transact in every way you would with a physical card. With eCash, you no longer need card number, OTP, CVV2 or expiry date to complete your online transactions. Recharge, Pay bills, Transfer funds and even withdraw cash from an ATM or make POS payments directly from your eCash.

Download Verve World app from the link below to get started.MW15_ANDR MW15_BBRY MW15_APPL
Login/Registration Process
Open the Verve World installed app, login with an existing Interswitch account if you have an account with Interswitch before and if not, choose Sign UP and fill the necessary detail, add the details of your ATM card on to the Verve World App and proceed.

After successful registration, you should get this notification and an accompanying email from the Verve International team with “Welcome to Verve eCash” in the subject line.

How to Fund Your Verve eCashClick the button that says ‘Fund my eCash’. On the next screen, you will be required to enter the amount you want to withdraw.

Even after adding a card to the application, you may have to input your details again in the “Payment Card” option

How to Generate Actual Verve PaycodeAfter funding the eCash, you will get a notification to that effect. Under every page, there is the eWALLET, 1-TOUCH and PAYCODE options, click on “PAYCODE” to generate.

After selecting PAYCODE, the below page will be displayed.

In selecting a channel, there is the option of ATM, POS or Paypoint Agent. Choose ATM as it is our case study for this post.

In selecting a payment card, choose your already funded Verve eCash or select from the stored Cards.

The cash-out pin is the one you are going to input in the ATM and your card pin is, of course, your personal card pin.

Important NoticeAfter the last procedure described above, you should be able to use your cashout pin in any ATM unless;
  • You have insufficient balance in your account.
  • You do not have a token– physical or software –and so cannot use the card online.
  • There is not sufficient internet connectivity.
AND;
  • Verve Paycode works for any bank card as long as it’s Verve, Visa or Mastercard
  • Multiple cards can be added to the application
  • Cardless ATM Withdrawals DOES NOT work on every bank’s ATM (that is the machine).
  • The Machine that I know, are: ATMs belonging to Zenith Bank, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank and Fidelity Bank are compatible with the Verve World App and Verve Paycode.
If all the above conditions have been satisfied, then you are good to go.
Now using the ATM is the really tricky part and seems to be where most people are stuck. Most ATMs have the options of cardless operation, to be sure, ask the orderlies around.
Or walk up to any one of them and press the “ENTER” key multiple times. It should display the option.

How to Withdraw from the ATMGTBank ATM has already been used for the experiment, all you need is to follow the below instruction according.

If you look closely at the display above, it gives the instructions on performing Cardless Transactions; that is, using the ATM to withdraw without ATM card. Even though the instruction makes it easier, some ATMs do not spell it out, so just press the “ENTER” button on the keypad twice, and if it does not still bring out the option, then the machine is probably not configured for Cardless Transactions.

The next screen after pressing the “ENTER” key will be self-explanatory as the tag of your selection will include Quickteller.  The Verve World App, Verve Paycode and Quickteller are all products of Interswitch, so they are in one family.

After selecting the Quickteller option, this screen comes up and prompts you to enter the already generated code, then the ATM proceeds to produce the exact amount of cash that was entered when generating the Verve Paycode on the Verve World. Simple as that.

At a Stanbic IBTC ATM, press zero “0” on the keypad to be taken to a page that has “Quickteller Cashout” written on it and the machine will give a prompt for the already generated Verve Paycode.

Zenith Bank ATMs have the same procedure, but you have to press the enter key to access “Quickteller Cashout” option, and input your Verve Paycode

Note: It includes a N100 surcharge at cashout.

Also Note:
To make every thing simply. You can generate a Paycode by simply dialing *322*8*Amount#. You dont need to have a smartphone or internet access

All you need to know about Candidiasis of the Skin and Nails

All you need to know about Candidiasis of the Skin and Nails

Candida is a naturally occurring fungus. When overgrown, it can cause an infection on the skin and in the nails. This infection is called candidiasis.

Men, women, and children have Candida, and everyone can get an infection. But what is Candida, what are the symptoms of infection, treatments, and how can infection be prevented? This article aims to explain all.

What is Candida?

There are over 150 types of Candida. The most frequently seen species is Candida albicans. The 15 known Candida albicans species are responsible for infections on the skin and in mucous membranes throughout the body.

Overgrowth occurs more often in moist areas of the skin. Candida infections can range from minor infections that are treated with over-the-counter medications to very serious conditions that need care from a physician.

What causes candidiasis?

Skin infections are caused by warm, wet environments. Humid weather, poor hygiene, and tight clothing that rubs and doesnt breathe well can increase the chances of candidiasis. Antibiotics can also alter the bodys natural Candida, causing an infection to occur.

Candidiasis of the nails can be caused by certain jobs. For instance, those that work with irritating substances, or people who are constantly in water have an increased risk of the condition. Brittle nails can also be caused by genetics and aging. Women experience nail fungus more often than men do.

Symptoms of candidiasis

Candidiasis can cause rashes and redness in areas of the body like the armpits.

Candidiasis of the skin can have visual signs such as redness, rash, scaling, and swelling. These signs are often found where skin touches skin as well as areas that are more difficult to keep dry.

Some examples of these sensitive areas include:

  • Folds of skin
  • Under the breast
  • Groin
  • Armpits
  • Spaces between fingers and toes
  • Foreskin of an uncircumcised penis

The infection will most likely itch and feel uncomfortable if not treated.

Signs of candidiasis of the nails are nails that are brittle, easily breakable, or splitting. There are often white or yellow spots under the affected nail. These symptoms can live in fingernails or toenails and can be very painful.

If untreated, the infection can make the nail thicker and even more discolored. Athletes foot, the fungus that can spread between the toes and feet, may also occur at the same time.

Treatment for candidiasis of the skin and nails Over-the-counter antifungal treatments like miconazole, clotrimazole, and oxiconazole can help cure infections of the skin.

To increase the likelihood of a quick recovery, keeping the skin dry is a necessary step. This may be more difficult in certain areas of the body. Powders can decrease moisture during and after recovery.

It is important to see a dermatologist if the condition doesnt improve after taking these actions. Prescription medication may be needed.

Severe skin infections, often caused by invasive candidiasis, need to be treated by a doctor. Invasive candidiasis is a serious yeast infection that affects the blood, heart, eyes, brain, and bones.

People with weakened immune systems, such as those with HIV, are more likely to be affected by these invasive infections. Patients should seek medical attention immediately to be hospitalized.

Nails affected by candidiasis should be kept dry and strengthened.

Nail infections can be tricky to resolve. Dr. Phoebe Rich of the American Academy of Dermatology recommends three steps in treating Candida of the nails:

  1. Examining possible underlying medical causes of the condition and correcting those issues if they exist.
  2. Keeping nails dry from harsh substances or water. Wearing gloves to do daily duties may help the condition.
  3. Treating nails by strengthening them. Petroleum jelly or thicker-based lubricants are better than watery lotions.

If a nail infection cannot be treated, surgical nail removal may be the best option. A new nail will grow, but it is a slow process.

Vitamin B with biotin may also help brittle nails, but it is a long-term solution and something that should be kept up as a daily supplement. If the condition doesnt subside, it is best to talk to a skin specialist about a prescription drug to help with the problem.

Preventing candidiasis of the skin and nails

Prevention is extremely important in keeping the nails and skin healthy. One way to reduce a Candida infection is to lower the amount of sugar consumed. Keeping blood sugar at healthy levels can contribute to healthier skin and nails. This is especially important for people with diabetes.

It is extremely important to keep the skin and nails dry and clean. Changing sweaty or wet clothing, washing with soap, and drying well will help avoid the spread and increase of yeast.

As for the hands and feet, choosing a reputable nail salon will decrease the chances of bacteria moving from customer to customer. It is also important to wear flip flops in public places like pools and showers.

Both the skin and nails have Candida, but balance is important. If a fungal infection does occur, home or over-the-counter remedies can be used.

People with weakened immune systems, diabetes, or other health conditions may need medical care more immediately. If a fever and rash are present, thats a sign that a doctor should be contacted right away.

All You Need to Know about Chromebooks

All You Need to Know about Chromebooks

When the first set of Chromebooks for sale were announced by both Acer and Samsung at Google I/O conference in May 2011, everyone was skeptical about the thought of a laptop running a strange OS (Chrome OS) that depends primarily on the internet to function. Over the years and with the introduction of several lines of chromebooks, more people are buying it. In this part of the world especially here in Nigeria, the idea of a PC running anything other than Windows is alien. So, let me introduce you to Google Chromebooks.

WHAT IS A CHROMEBOOK?

A Chromebook is a laptop running Googles Chrome OS. Chrome OS is based on a linux kernel and uses Google Cgrome browser with an integrated media player. The OS has limited offline usability but has a fast boot time, booting up in less than 5 seconds. The OS doesnt install traditional applications like word processing apps or instant messaging, instead users add web apps from the chrome web app store. Just like you do on the Google chrome browser on your PC.

Like most regular PCs, it supports plug and play feature for the USB so you can use your camera, mouse, external drives etc easily with the device. Also, despite the device needing the internet to perform most of the functions, users are able to access any apps which support offline mode. Most Google apps like Drive, Maps, Calendar, Keep and Gmail are usable offline along with built in music player, photo editor and games like Angry Birds.
Google Chromebooks
FEATURES
  • Extremely Fast booting
  • Built in Popular Google apps like Gmail, Google Drive etc.
  • Integrated web store for nstallvng apps
  • Easy account management and switching with support for Guest Mode.
  • Seamless Syncing with other device for easy use
  • Easily access apps on your other PC (not running Chrome OS) via Chrome Remote Desktop
  • Built- in protection, therefore no need for need for anti-virus softwares
  • Long Battery life
 and lots more.

PRICES

Chromebooks despite the eye catching features have relatively low prices compared to other laptops. The price of most chromebooks range from $199 - $349. Thats about N36,000 - N63,000 according to current exchange rates. Some chromebooks like the Samsung Chromebook supports sim for 3G usage.

SUMMARY
In summary, chromebooks are wonderful less expensive alternatives to common laptop. But in countries like Nigeria were internet is not readily available at fast speeds, there could be a problem with the usage. In the nearest future, chromebooks may become the next big thing ahead of PCs and Macs.

Although less popular in the Nigerian market, the pricing and features have attracted some users to acquiring the device. Most top laptop makers like Asus, Samsung, Lenovo, HP, Toshiba all have various designs and models of chromebooks for sale. The big question still remains, are you ready to step up to an internet based device?
