Android N is for NOUGAT Android 7 0
Android N is for NOUGAT Android 7 0
After the long wait for the new Android OS name, Google finally announced on Snapchat (Yes! Snapchat) the new name for the latest iteration of the operating system. Android 7.0 is going to be called Android Nougat. Google had decided to allow users for the first time to name the new Android version (Read more here), and Nougat won the naming race. This follows Googles tradition of naming its OS after sweet treats and desserts in an alphabetical order. From Android Cupcakes to Doughnuts then Eclairs, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice cream sandwich, Jelly bean, Kit-kat, Lollipop, Marshmallow and now Nougat.
Just in case you were wondering...Nougat is part of a family of confections made with sugar or honey, roasted nuts, whipped egg whites, and sometimes chopped candied fruit. It is chewy, and it is used in a variety of candy bars and chocolates.
The New Android version is Android 7.0 which means the features will be very distinct from the last version. Some of the new features include:
==> Doze 2.0
==> Multi Window Support for multitasking
==> Android VR
==> New Notifications panel
==> New Settings Layout
==> Keyboard themes
==> New Emojis
==> Data Saver Feature
==> Nightr mode
==> Improved Smart Lock
==> New Messaging App

Android Nougat will be fully released in the coming months. Meanwhile, beta testing is ongoing by users of selected devices who get a first hand view of the latest features available. Android Nougat 7.0 promises to bring about much anticipated features Android users have yearned for. The only problem is, we pray OEMs especially Tecno, Infinix etc roll out updates as soon as possible after its release.
